About the Commission
The Commission offers many services to Queenslanders.
Our annual report provides an overview of our finances.
The Commissioner is responsible for the Commission’s strategy and performance.
The Commission is the sole body authorised under the Legal Profession Act 2007 to receive and investigate complaints about lawyers, law practices employees and people who act as a lawyer when they are not qualified.
The Commission deals with a complaint based on the nature of the complaint. Some complaints do not become investigations.
Only the Commissioner can decide what action to take with a complaint after an investigation has been completed.
Many policies and guidelines govern the way we work.
The Commission is required by law to make information publicly available. An example of this is the disclosure log.
Some other information may be available by the public at no cost or for a fee through a Right to Information (RTI) application.
Privacy and confidentiality issues may prevent disclosure of some information.
